Hard Work Pays Off: Elimination Chamber PPV Review

Elimination Chamber made its return to pay-per-view and it was historic last night. I will provide you with a brief recap of the show as well as the results.

New Champions

Flow The Glow

Naomi was out to prove a point because the title opportunities are very limited in a deep SmackDown Women’s division. She has been riding high after to two straight wins over Bliss and she was looking forward to making it a third. Naomi is one of the most gifted athletes on the WWE roster for years. She did not have the easiest road to travel and was constantly fighting to be recognized. Going into this match Bliss did not take Naomi too serious. She was ready for all of Alexa’s offense. Naomi overcame all the adversity and she got the win a top rope Moonsault. In the process, she ended the 70-day reign of Alexa Bliss as Women’s Champion.

... but Wyatt catches Styles in mid-Phenomenal Forearm to deliver Sister Abigail and capture the WWE Championship.

Bray Wyatt Runs SmackDown

Last but not least six individuals faced off for the richest prize in the WWE. Bray Wyatt looked to capped off a successful night for the Wyatt Family. The Elimination Chamber lived up to all the hype as every fan predicted it would. Familiar faces started off the match as heated rivals Cena and Styles met once again.

Then the lunatic fringe Dean Ambrose joined the action and he wasted no time making an impact. Ambrose decided to as he climbed up onto his pod he jumped off onto the champion. After five minutes “The New Face Of Fear Bray Wyatt joined the chaos. After five minutes “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin entered the Chamber. Last, by not least the A-Lister The Miz got the best of the draw because he was the one out of his pod. The Miz caused the first elimination of the night as Corbin waited for The Miz to come into the ring.

The Final Three

However, he decided not to leave his pod and Ambrose capitalized on this opportunity. As he and rolled up Corbin for a quick elimination. As a result, Corbin snapped and gave Ambrose quite a beating. The Miz picked up the pieces and he pinned Ambrose to eliminate him. The last four competitors were John Cena, The Miz, Bray Wyatt. The Miz gave a valiant effort but Cena connected with an Attuide Adjustment to send the A-Lister to the back. The final three was down to Cena, Wyatt and AJ Styles.

Wyatt put an end to Cena’s one-month title reign with a Sister Abigal to ensure that a new WWE Champion would be crowned. It was down to Wyatt and Styles to see who became the new WWE Champion. Therefore, you knew Styles was hungry for the WWE Championship to be around his waist once again.

Styles gave everything he had to Bray Wyatt but simply he would not die. Wyatt managed to land a Sister Abigal to AJ Styles. It was all over and Bray Wyatt put his name in WWE history. After all the years of struggling Bray Wyatt is finally crowned the new WWE Champion.

The match spirals out of control as the two Superstars start viciously brawling, soon taking the battle to the outside.

Wanting More

Natalya and Nikki Bella put on another great match as expected. Nikki Bella pushed Natalya to the limit and she proved that she could adapt to anything. She surprised Natalya with a series of submission holds and wrestling moves. Despite it being a wrestling match they fought outside for the majority of the match.

Nikki Bella was her hometown of Phoenix therefore Natalya tried to embarrass her in front of her family. This match did not solve anything as it ended in a double count-out. After the match, Natalya was pleased with the result. She laid out Nikki with a vicious strike to her head. However, Nikki Bella did not stay down she ran after Natalya up the ramp and broke her in a half with a spear.

Family Affairs

It was a big night for the Wyatt Family as Bray Wyatt was getting ready to challenge for the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. First, the two members of the Wyatt Family Randy Orton and Luke Harper battled it out to see who was the weakest man in the Wyatt Family is. Harper was gaining some momentum. However, Orton put an end to that when he slammed Harper onto the announcers’ table. Orton began to slow down the match in his favor. This was the big man coming out party. Harper delivered a boot to The Apex Predator.

Then Harper showed off his athlete ability when he connected with a Tope Suicida. This would send Orton flying into the German commentary team. The match swung back in Orton’s side when he hit a Superplex. He delivered to superkicks followed by a sit out powerbomb to Orton only for a near fall. He went for his clothesline but Orton countered and he connected with an RKO out of nowhere.
Overall last night I thought that Elimination Chamber was above average it was an entertaining pay-per-view. I would give it an 8/10 and WrestleMania is really looking good right now.
