Cavaliers edge out close win against Pacers 109-108

Game one of the NBA Playoffs featured two highly competitive teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Indiana Pacers 109-108 in a barn-burner. LeBron James was great as usual dropping 32 points with 13 assists and 6 rebounds. His Pacers’ counterpart Paul George was hot all game scoring 29 points on 9-for-19 shooting.

Lance Stephenson showed up for the Pacers with his pace and adding 16 points off the bench. And Jeff Teague also came through late in the fourth with some timely threes. But they were countered by the efforts of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love combining for 40 points. Both teams had low turnovers and high field goal percentages so this game came down to execution in the fourth quarter.

The Final Minutes

Neither team look like they wanted to give this game away in the fourth quarter. Defense was completely out of the window as each team got what shots they wanted. But the key was better execution by the Cleveland Cavaliers. This dunk by LeBron stopped a big run from the Pacers and swung the momentum back in their favor.

Paul George had a chance with the game on the line down one to win it all. Instead of going for a quick shot he got doubled team and had to kick to CJ Miles who missed.
